From the mountains to the sea . . . Stay hungry, ya’ll!

I’ve always been an outdoor enthusiast; hunting, fishing, camping and climbing since I was very young. From the swamps of Florida to the Alaskan wilderness; from spearfishing to running down wild pigs and bear, I have had the opportunity to test all sorts of gear in all sorts of conditions.

In 2006, I married a girl from South Carolina. In 2011, we settled in Travelers Rest. Here, in the foothills of Appalachia, I built a successful carpentry business and got to know the Blue Ridge mountains through hunting in my off-time.

In 2018, I built a small forge in the backyard, as part of a home school project with our boys. I was hooked as soon as I made my first knife. Metalwork turned quickly from hobby to business, as folks in the hunting community started asking to buy the knives they saw me use in the woods. Word spread.

In 2020, I decided to make Woodsmann Outdoors a full-time gig, and closed my carpentry business.

My shop is located minutes from I-25 N., just south of Hwy.11 and just a few miles from the North Carolina border. Please contact me if you are interested in a tour.

I work with a pack of dogs I have trained for years. We specialize in feral hog removal from sensitive areas, including coastal estuaries and deep mountain gaps, where the impact of feral hogs is a real problem for native flora & fauna.

Skinny, a true dog for all seasons.

Skinny is one of our most experienced hog catchers.

Working with this pack of dogs has

been one of the most rewarding

and educational experiences

of my life.

The pack continues to improve every year.
